COO and VP Investor Development 

Greater Louisville Inc. – the metro chamber of commerce

Rebecca Wood is the COO and VP Investor Development at Greater Louisville Inc., (GLI) the metro chamber of commerce in Louisville, Kentucky.  She began her chamber career in 2016, in investor prospect sales.  Wood moved up the ranks to become the Executive Director of Investor Development, then the Vice President of Investor Growth and Retention, and finally the COO and VP Investor Development, all within 3 short years.  Wood oversees a combined team of investor retention, investor prospect sales, products, sponsorship sales, trade agreements, grant applications, marketing, events, workforce, talent, the NOW Louisville campaign, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.  Throughout Wood's career at GLI she has found innovative ways to engage with investors and has grown the investor revenue base consistently.    

 

In 2018, Wood received her first Lifetime Achievement Award from the Associates of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE), and she received her second in 2020.  Wood was also named one of the 40 under 40 Emerging Leaders in the Chamber Industry by ACCE in 2020.  Wood serves on the Board of Directors for Amplify Louisville and the Kentucky Derby Festival. 

 

Wood received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Louisville in 2003, and she received her Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Louisville in 2008.  She lives in Mount Washington, Kentucky with her husband Aaron, son Hunter, and daughter Macey.
